Breakfast Brothers earns more than $1.3 million in online orders with Popmenu

Client Spotlight:
Breakfast Brothers

Founded in 2017 by co-owner Rickey Booker, Breakfast Brothers has become a mainstay in the Dallas/Fort Worth community. What started as a trailer behind a nightclub has grown into three thriving locations, a food truck, and a booming catering business.

Breakfast Brothers is rooted in family and culture, featuring recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Guests come (and come again) for the bold take on traditional Southern breakfast, where they can savor dishes such as catfish and pancakes or salmon and red velvet waffles. With his background in the music industry, Rickey knew the importance of "staying in rotation"—in other words, consistently reaching a large audience—and turned to Popmenu’s marketing technology to help.

As with any restaurant that expands from a single spot to multiple locations, Breakfast Brothers quickly found themselves scrambling to keep up with their growing business, which included “impulse hiring” just to get enough staff to meet immediate demands. Yet in order to sustain success, Rickey and the team knew they needed to focus on building a stronger employee culture, which would create a better dining environment for their guests.

"In the beginning, I was just hiring bodies because I needed employees. When I started investing in hiring and recruiting the right people, I had fewer employees but with more motivation and drive, and the productivity went up and the labor cost went down. So I started researching ways to find a better management team, to better train employees, and to create leadership programs and mentorships, and then increase the productivity and the culture around Breakfast Brothers."

Streamlining systems for sustainability

Part of the pivot from growth to sustainability included taking tasks off employees’ plates so they could focus on guest satisfaction. As important as marketing, answering phones, and online ordering management are to the business, Rickey knew that technology would help his small but mighty team do more with less. That’s why he partnered with Popmenu.

Based on these needs, Popmenu introduced Breakfast Brothers to technologies that save time and improve the guest experience: AI Marketing, which serves up pre-crafted emails, texts, and social posts unique to each Breakfast Brothers location; AI Answering, which leverages technology to handle high call volumes and respond to guests’ important questions (taking the burden off of staff); and Online Ordering, which seamlessly captures digital sales. Plus, Popmenu's interactive menu with reviews and SEO-driven website helps them to attract more guests online and on-prem.

Each of these solutions helped Breakfast Brothers reach more guests, earn more revenue, and make the most of their time. The results speak for themselves.

To date, Breakfast Brothers has captured more than $1.3 million with Popmenu’s online ordering. Meanwhile, the restaurant’s marketing revenue continues to grow thanks to consistent guest engagement and AI. Popmenu has helped marketing-driven revenue reach more than $230,000, with more than $152,000 from mass messages (mostly created with AI Marketing) and more than $40,000 from automated emails that are triggered by guest preferences and behavior.

Popmenu helped staff spend less time on the phone while ensuring guests got all of the information they wanted. AI Answering fielded more than 9,300 calls (resolving 49% automatically) and saved more than 119 staff hours. Given that 56% of calls were tied to revenue activity (i.e., reservations, waitlists, online orders), AI Answering helped drive more than $47,500 in sales. With 30% of calls coming in on Sundays, AI Answering freed up staff to focus on the very busy–and lucrative–Sunday brunch rush.

“I signed up for Popmenu four years ago. I wasn't looking at it as just a website; I was looking at how everything was integrated, and I could get all reports under one umbrella. That's what really sold me on the solution. And then after that, it grew into a vital tool for our success.”

Learning and growing together

Just as Rickey turned to staff training as a means to strengthen employee culture, he turned to Popmenu to educate himself on how the right technology can work in tandem with his staff to deliver guest satisfaction, increased revenue, and more efficient operations.

““Popmenu educates us every day on how to make the right moves and how to understand marketing. And you can always get someone on the phone. Support-wise, I've never had to sit on hold or wait two or three days for somebody to respond to an email.””

And like eggs and bacon, Popmenu’s technology is the perfect complement to Breakfast Brothers, powering their marketing, ordering, and guest communication, so Rickey and his team can focus on what they do best: serving food that feeds the soul.

Nevada brewery saves time, grows direct online ordering, and unifies multi-location operations with Popmenu and Genius.

Founded in 1993, Great Basin Brewing Company is Nevada’s oldest and most award-winning brewery, touted for its craft beer and its creative, ale-infused food unique closed-loop system (utilizing spent grain from the brewing process to feed local cattle that produce beef used back at its restaurants). When owner and director of operations Nick Meyer took over the business--and the brewery grew to four locations--he wanted to maintain consistent marketing across all locations without sacrificing their high standards. He searched for technology that would save time, increase revenue, keep up with evolving menus, and grow their online presence. He found Popmenu.

Popmenu + Genius: one menu, one ordering flow, fewer manual updates

What initially drew Nick, along with marketing director Brennan Best, to Popmenu was its seamless integration with Great Basin’s POS system Genius. Prior to Popmenu, any menu or website changes were manual and time-consuming: menus changing two to four times a year and updates across locations via various technologies, all online orders were routed through third parties, cutting into the restaurants’ profits. After choosing Popmenu, the team has saved significant time: instantaneous website changes across all channels, online orders go directly from the Popmenu platform into the Genius POS, and guests’ orders are fulfilled with less room for error.

In the months following the launch, Great Basin has seen an average month-over-month 11% increase in online ordering gross payment value (GPV), which is the total amount processed during transactions. During that period, they’ve also gained more than 1,000 new guest contacts (a 9% increase)—and those new followers have driven almost 75% of their orders. With Popmenu, Great Basin is capturing guest information so they can stay top of mind and continue to build a loyal customer base.

“The ability [as a result of the Popmenu integration] for our customers to order directly from our website, and for that to be less expensive for them without the additional markups for third-party delivery, has been a gamechanger for us and has really improved the experience for our guests.”

Stronger communications or better SEOhappier guests

For Great Basin, technology isn’t just about efficiency–it’s about staying connected with their guests and their community. So when they had to navigate between several scattered and disparate communications tools, they weren’t able to get their message across in the meaningful, consistent way that aligns with their values.

The Popmenu platform has enabled Great Basin to unify their messaging, while still allowing each location to have its own unique voice. Within the platform, they’ve been able to customize the look and feel of each location’s landing page to convey the fact that each restaurant has a different personality.

“It's always been important for us to listen to our community, while also conveying our brand’s narrative to our community as well. The Popmenu platform has been super helpful because not only does it allow us to receive feedback from our guests, but it also enables us to respond directly to those guests.”

The brewery’s SEO has also improved since integrating with Popmenu, as their website’s event inquiry page for guests looking to host onsite parties has seen a surge in traffic. Soon after Great Basin made the switch to Popmenu, location managers were trying to understand why they were seeing unprecedented levels of interest in events. As a result, they are currently booked with private parties through mid-2026.

“Popmenu’s built-in marketing tools have replaced several standalone systems, saving costs and creating consistent messaging. We were able to cut a few hundred dollars a month by consolidating tools, and now our messaging – emails, events, promotions – all run through one seamless system.”

Smooth and supported implementation

As any restaurant team can attest to, rolling out new technology across multiple locations can be daunting and challenging. But Nick, Brennan, and the entire Great Basin staff credit both Popmenu’s onboarding process and its client service reps for a smooth transition. Even launching the integration during one of Great Basin’s busiest seasons didn’t slow things down.

“We had everything running in about a week across four locations – it was one of the easiest integrations we’ve done. We even went live right before summer events, and it didn’t faze the team at all. Once everything was set, we were off and running.”
